I’ve been asked so many times about my favourite items for baby! Whether it’s toys, books, water bottle, etc. I tend to do a LOT of research before making any purchase and it always pays off! We’re big believers in quality over quantity, and baby items are no exception!
I have another blog post of all our newborn-1 year essentials – the things we registered for / purchased during the infant stage. But these are the items I love now around the one year mark!

PLAY
I love quality wooden toys! We don’t do toys that light up or need batteries. I personally want to encourage imagination in my kids and lean towards the Waldorf school of thought – open ended toys that can be used dozens of different ways. I also love toys that grow with kids, instead of items they’ll grow out of in a few months!
He also loves his Ikea play kitchen, kitchen accessories and play food!

I love books that aren’t “baby books”. Of course we have to be careful with paper pages, but I love to read an actual story instead of the same short rhyming books over and over!
CLOTHING
I love neutral, comfy clothes for baby! Some of my favourite places to buy clothing are H+M (love their affordable, organic options!), Gap, Hanna Andersson, Parade Organics, Kate Quinn, and few local (Alberta) boutiques – bebe bliss, Aegi baby.
