Hi friends, I’m back with another income report and I’m REALLY excited about this my September 2020 blogging income report.
I missed last month, but to be honest it was almostttt identical to July 2020, so it felt kind of pointless to make a separate post.
I saw soooo much growth this month and I’m excited to talk about it!
But first –
WHY THE HECK AM I SHARING MY INCOME WITH STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET?
For years I had convinced myself that the bloggers I loved to follow who were making a full-time income blogging just got started at the right time, and it’s too late now to actually make an income blogging.
Then I came across income reports where bloggers will share this personal information to encourage others. After reading dozens and dozens (more like hundreds) of these blogging income reports I became convinced that the internet isn’t saturated and blogging is NOT dead.
A few bloggers who share their income reports every single month:
There are so many opportunities on the internet, and bloggers are proving every day that it is still possible to start an income-producing blog in 2020!I hope my September 2020 blogging income report encourages you to start your own blog!
Whether you’re brand new to blogging or have been at it for years, I hope this income report teaches you something new or encourages you to chase your dreams! I want to be transparent with you to show you that it’s still very possible to start an income producing blog in 2020.
I also want to create these for myself. To remember how exciting it felt to finally be making money after months & months of hard work and to look back on in the future!

ONE YEAR OF BLOGGING
I started this blog September 2019 and have worked on it EVERY SINGLE DAY since. When I started I knew that I would spend hundreds (if not thousands) of hours working for free before I ever saw a paycheck.
Those first months are when most people get discouraged and quit. I’m so proud and grateful that I pushed through and am now making an income for the work I do – even if it’s still small!

HOW AM I REPORTING THIS INCOME?
If you’re new to the blogging world you may not know that most advertising and affiliate programs take 30-90 days to pay you. That means the money you make in April might not actually hit your bank account until June or July.
To simplify, I will reporting my statistics for the most recent month – September 2020 regardless of when this money actually hits my bank account.
SEPTEMBER 2020 BLOG STATS
Ok – here are the details you came here for in my September 2020 blogging income report! I like to share my stats to put things into perspective, and as a way to record this for myself.
Blog Pageviews : 43,000 – I’ve seen a steady increase in traffic since the beginning of September. It’s pretty common (from what I hear) to see a dip in traffic in the summer and then a large increase in the fall leading up to Christmas.
Email Subscribers : 766 – I’ve slowly started focusing a little bit more on my email list and have been sending out one email a month. I’ve also diversified my email list and created multiple segments to attract different types of future customers!
Pinterest Followers : 4085 – I’ve gained over 1,000 Pinterest followers in the last month! I’ve never done anything specific to increase my Pinterest following, but it just seems to grow authentically as long as I keep pinning 🙂
Youtube Subscribers : 2780 – I debated whether or not to include my Youtube statistics and revenue in this post. Since my Youtube videos often contain affiliate links and my videos are often linked in my blog posts, it would be difficult to completely separate the two. Plus I consider them all the same business, so I’m going to include them!
SEPTEMBER 2020 INCOME REPORT – BLOG REVENUE
Mediavine: $903.43 – This was by FAR my highest month for ad revenue and almost double last month. I’m still kind of in shock haha
Youtube Ads: $42 – I’ve been seriously neglecting my Youtube channel lately. I did get one video up in August, but none in September so this is entirely passive income.
Amazon Affiliate: $89.96
ShopStyle: $160.51 For some reason affiliate income was really overwhelming to me and it took me WAY too long to dabble in other affiliate marketing programs. I finalllllly started using ShopStyle and now I’m kicking myself for not doing it sooner! LOL. So far I only have a handful of links on one post and it’s already out-performing my Amazon affiliates.
Gumroad: $61.04 This month I also launched my very first paid product!! This has been really crazy to watch because I make almost 100% of the profit as opposed to affiliate marketing where I’m only making 1-10% commission.
Total = $1166.98
That is BY FAR the most I’ve ever made with this blog, and it still doesn’t even feel real! Obviously that’s still not enough to live off of, so I’m also babysitting part-time and working as a Virtual Assistant for another blogger. I truly feel like I’m working my dream job, and I’m so grateful.
* All of my earnings are in USD. I’m Canadian so when they get transferred into my bank account they will actually be significantly higher! But I’m reporting them as they are shown in USD. This is also all before taxes or other business expenses. *
WHERE DID I FOCUS MY TIME IN SEPTEMBER?
Holy moly, I feel like I did 351409312 things in September.
I started the month expecting traffic to go up so there were some things I wanted to take care of this month before we’re in the thick of the holidays!
- I purchased and started taking Stupid Simple SEO. This was my first big course purchase which was kind of terrifying. I’ll report back eventually to let you know if I think it’s worth it!
- I had my blog moved to a new hosting platform. I would still recommend Bluehost if you’re just starting out, but I had outgrown it (A good problem to have I guess haha). My site is now hosted through Lyrical Host (My affiliate code TORY10 will give you 10% off if you’re looking to switch). They did almost all of the work moving it which was such a luxury.
- I created an launched my Emergency Binder Printable. (AKA I stayed up until 2am several days in a row trying to get it done ASAP). This wasn’t even something on my radar until this post started gaining traction. It was something I wanted to create for myself anyway so I decided to sell it!
- I redesigned my website *again*. Hahahah for some reason I feel the need to redo it every few months. I’d like to say it won’t happen again, but it probably will…I’m currently using a 17th Avenue theme and loving it!
- I posted 6 blog posts (and I had this one 99.9% done in September, just had to plug in the final numbers).
- I continued my regular pinning routine.
MY OCTOBER GOALS
Psst – see how I did in my October 2020 Income Report!
- Make $2500 in revenue.
- Hit 50k blogviews.
- Post 2 blog posts per week.
- Post 2 Youtube videos!
- Send out 1 email to my email subscribers.
