Hi friends, I’m back with my October 2020 blogging income report! These are honestly becoming my favourite to write + reflect on the previous month. This month I want to share how to make a full-time income blogging!

I saw soooo much growth this month and I’m excited to talk about it!
But first –
WHY THE HECK AM I SHARING MY INCOME WITH STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET?
For years I had convinced myself that the bloggers I loved to follow who were making a full-time income blogging just got started at the right time, and it’s too late now to actually make an income blogging.
Then I came across income reports where bloggers will share this personal information to encourage others. After reading dozens and dozens (more like hundreds) of these posts about how to make a full-time income blogging I became convinced that the internet isn’t saturated and blogging is NOT dead.

Whether you’re brand new to blogging or have been at it for years, I hope this income report teaches you something new or encourages you to chase your dreams! I want to be transparent with you to show you that it’s still very possible to start an income producing blog in 2020.
I also want to create these for myself. To remember how exciting it felt to finally be making money after months & months of hard work and to look back on in the future!

HOW AM I REPORTING THIS INCOME?
If you’re new to the blogging world you may not know that most advertising and affiliate programs take 30-90 days to pay you. That means the money you make in April might not actually hit your bank account until June or July.
To simplify, I will reporting my statistics for the most recent month – October 2020 regardless of when this money actually hits my bank account.
OCTOBER 2020 BLOG STATS
Ok – here are the details you came here for in my October 2020 blogging income report! I like to share my stats to put things into perspective, and as a way to record this for myself.
Blog Pageviews : 93,048 – I saw a huge spike in traffic! And it was spread out over several blog posts, instead of being from one viral post. This is important because it makes the growth more sustainable!
Email Subscribers : 1373 – This nearly doubled in October! I’ve been trying to focus more on growing + fostering my email list.
Pinterest Followers : 5293 – I’ve gained over 1,000 Pinterest followers in the last month! I’ve never done anything specific to increase my Pinterest following, but it just seems to grow authentically as long as I keep pinning
Youtube Subscribers : 2887 – I actually didn’t think my Youtube had really grown because I haven’t been prioritizing it. But I still managed to gain 100 subscribers in October!
October 2020 INCOME REPORT – BLOG REVENUE
Mediavine: $1197.94 – This is a pretty good increase since September 2020!
Youtube Ads: $60.15 – I was surprised to see this revenue so high since I only published one video!
Amazon Affiliate: $177.94 – By FAR my highest Amazon affiliate month!! For so long I felt like Amazon links weren’t even worth it because I was making maybe $10 a month. But it quickly increased to a substantial amount!
ShopStyle: $292.66 – I mentioned in my September income report that I finally started using ShopStyle links. It’s been SO worth it. I still only have a few posts optimized with shopstyle, and I can’t believe how high the revenue is!
Bluehost affiliate: $130
Gumroad (my ebook): $500 – OK THIS IS INSANE. October was my first full month with my own paid product, and I did NOT expect to make this much 😱
Collaboration: $50 – I did one paid brand collaboration this month
Total = $2408.69 USD
Holy cow. I’m totalling this up for the first time as I write this and actually tearing up. This is significantly more money than I made at my last “real” full-time job, and it was always the goal to replace that income. I didn’t even realize it was this high since my income comes from so many different income streams!
* All of my earnings are in USD. I’m Canadian so when they get transferred into my bank account they will actually be significantly higher! But I’m reporting them as they are shown in USD. This is also all before taxes or other business expenses. *
WHERE DID I FOCUS MY TIME IN OCTOBER?
I did a lot of back-end work in October, as opposed to publishing lots of new content.
- In September I redesigned my blog, and with that always comes a lot of little things to fix + tweak that I still needed to do in October.
- I focused a lot of time on growing my email list. I created several new lead magnets for different categories. I also created a *secret post* section of my blog which I’m excited about! This is a password protected part of the blog only for my email subscribers. I’ve had really good feedback on it so far!
- I posted 6 blog posts. My goal is always 2 a week, so almost there!
- I continued my regular pinning routine.
MY OCTOBER GOALS- REFLECTION
I always like to set goals and then reflect on them at the end of the month. I think this is important if you’re trying to make a full-time income blogging!
- Make $2500 in revenue ✅ (I’m checking this off since it was over $2500 CAD)
- Hit 50k pageviews ✅
- Post 2 blog posts per week – almost!
- Post 2 Youtube videos! – I posted 1!
- Send out 1 email to my email subscribers ✅
MY NOVEMBER GOALS
- Make $3000 in revenue
- Hit 100k pageviews
- Post 2 blog posts per week
- Post 1 youtube video
- Send out 1 email to email subscribers
