I’ve been growing my houseplant collection for nearly 3 years, and although I’m no where NEAR being an expert, I love sharing what I’ve learned about plants! Today I wanted to share my 6 favourite houseplants that I believe are perfect for a beginner! Hopefully there are some unique “easy” houseplants in this list for you!
Plants are becoming more and more popular, but so often I hear people say “I have a black thumb, I can’t keep anything alive!” I believe that there is a plant for everyone, you just need to do some research! Different plants have different needs, and there is a plant out there for you!
ALOE
Aloe is technically a succulent, which basically means that it doesn’t need a lot of attention or water! Mine sits in a bright window (I’ve had success with any direction, as long as it gets direct sunlight), and I water it only when it’s VERY dry (probably once a month!) Basically, ignore it and it will thrive!

MONSTERA
These have become SO popular in the past few months! I find mine very easy to care for! It likes indirect light and water about once a week! Mine has been quite fast growing and one of my favourite easy houseplants to care for.

MAJESTY PALM
I love how inexpensive these are, especially for a large plant! These like to be more moist than most houseplants. I water it as soon as the soil is looking dry. I also mist mine whenever I remember (a few times a week) which has encouraged so many new leaves to grow! If you’re looking for larger easy houseplants, this is a good option.

POTHOS
This is my FAVOURITE plant. I find these SO easy-going. I keep mine in a room that gets indirect light, and water it about once a week. The leaves will droop if it’s thirsty! These grow so fast and are so beautiful!

CACTUS
I prefer cacti over other types of succulents. I completely ignore them and water it every 1-2 months! They like to be VERY dry and in direct sunlight!

SNAKE PLANT
This is the only plant that I have experienced to survive and thrive in a very low light room! Ours stays in our bedroom and I almost always forget about it. I let the soil get very dry in between waterings!

JADE
This used to be my #1 easy houseplant suggestion BUT I recently (almost) killed mine!! I think I got too excited and watered it too often! Because it’s a succulent, it does NOT need a lot of water. 1-2 times a month should be good! And Jade doesn’t need/want a lot of sunlight.
I hope these ideas are helpful if you want to begin your houseplant collection or add to your own indoor jungle! I’d love to hear what are your favourite easy houseplants?
If this was helpful, be sure to pin it for later or to share with a friend!
If you or someone in your life are a houseplant lover, you’ll love these gift ideas!
